Part of the Freedom 360 health and wellbeing toolkit, Freedom Dermatology gives eligible members specialist review of moles and skin lesions, often from home, through the Skin Lesion Pathway.
This service is available to eligible Freedom Elite, Freedom Essentials and Freedom Worldwide UK members living in the UK. Your policy must include outpatient cover, as the Freedom Dermatology service fee is taken from your outpatient limit.

Freedom Health Insurance has partnered with Skin Analytics to deliver Freedom Dermatology. Skin Analytics services are also used within the NHS. A GMC-registered consultant dermatologist manages every case.
The Skin Lesion Pathway
The Skin Lesion Pathway provides assessments of moles and skin lesions without a GP referral, subject to your outpatient cover and eligibility.
Contact our claims team
No GP referral is needed. Our claims team will check your cover and ask a few questions to establish whether you can access the Skin Lesion Pathway.
Get authorised and receive your kit
Once authorised, you receive a registration link by email. A kit containing a smartphone and dermatoscopic lens will be sent to your address. You will need to return the kit after your assessment.
Take and upload your photos
Take clear photos of up to three moles or lesions and upload them securely through the app.
Specialist review
A GMC-registered consultant dermatologist manages every case. Depending on the assessment option you choose when you start, AI technology may also support the review of your images.
Your results
You will usually receive a response within three working days of submitting suitable images. You can request a call back from a Skin Analytics clinician to discuss your results and any recommended next steps.

Your results letter will tell you whether any further action is needed. The possible next steps are explained below.

Yes. The service is only available if your policy includes outpatient cover, and the Freedom Dermatology service fee is taken from your outpatient limit. No excess applies to the Skin Analytics assessment. If you have used your full outpatient limit, the service is not available until your outpatient benefit renews. If you need further treatment, your usual excess and policy terms apply.
Skin Analytics handles your clinical information and images in accordance with its privacy policy. Relevant information may be shared with Freedom Health Insurance where necessary to administer your cover or assess a claim.
The app guides you through taking clear photos, and you will be asked to retake any image that is not suitable. For help with the app or kit, or if you have not received your results within the expected time, contact Skin Analytics at support@skinanalytics.co.uk.
