Following a glittering ceremony last week in London at the UK Health & Protection Awards, we are overjoyed to have won the Best Individual Healthcare Provider Award 2021! The awards ceremony is held every year to celebrate the best in the insurance and protection industry.
A challenging period
Winning this award in 2021, after what has been a very challenging period for all of us, is more significant than ever. At Freedom Health Insurance, we have worked hard to offer our clients valuable benefits and to help them with their healthcare needs during these difficult times.
Virtual GP service
Right at the start of the pandemic, back in 2020, we introduced our free virtual GP service, GP24, available to all our UK customers at no extra cost and with no usage limit. It was launched at a time when many were worried about visiting GP practices and hospitals, and, due to Covid restrictions, appointments were often difficult to get.
This service was further enhanced this year through the launch of a new web app that allows Freedom clients to book online GP appointments and get online referrals to therapists, consultants or for further diagnostic tests. Find out more about our virtual GP
Access to more hospitals
This year we provided our Freedom Elite customers on our standard hospital list with access, at no extra cost, to additional hospitals throughout the UK by including many hospitals that were previously only accessible through the more expensive London Plus hospital list extension. Open access claims service
At Freedom Health Insurance we believe that our customers should have access to any consultant or therapist they want, with no restrictive lists, and our open access claims service is a proof of this. We offered this benefit long before the pandemic and we believe it has become even more important during these times.
2-year fixed premiums
One of our benefits that became popular with our clients in the last few years is the 2-year fixed premium. All our UK customers have the option to freeze their premium for 2 years when buying a new Freedom policy. There is no extra cost to you and the premium is frozen at renewal irrespective of the claims made during your first policy year. Over 87% of our customers have already taken advantage of this benefit and saved money. Please note, the 2-Year Fixed Premium option was removed on the 1st of January 2024.
These are only some of the things we have offered to our customers in the last 20 months and we will continue to do so. That’s why we are very proud to be presented with this award and to know that we are making a difference to families and individuals looking after their health.
