The basics
How the schedule works
For eligible inpatient and day-patient treatment, we pay specialist fees in line with our schedule of procedures and fees.
Each procedure has a code, which your specialist or hospital can give you. The schedule lists each procedure's code and the maximum amount we pay a specialist for it, based on the complexity of the procedure.
If your specialist charges more than the amount payable under your policy, you pay the difference. This is known as a shortfall. Ask your specialist about their fees before your treatment.
Check your cover before treatment
A procedure's inclusion in the schedule does not mean it is covered under your policy. Always contact our claims team before any treatment to confirm your cover.
