Freedom Elite FAQs

What is a comprehensive health insurance policy?

A comprehensive health insurance policy usually covers more illnesses and treatments than the basic policies. Our Freedom Elite comprehensive medical insurance plan covers eligible hospital fees, diagnostic tests and specialist fees in full if you are admitted to a hospital for medical treatment.

On the other hand, if you opt for our Freedom Essentials affordable health insurance plan, you will receive a cash benefit (for eligible day-patient and inpatient treatment) that can be used to cover your private medical treatment costs.

Why is having a comprehensive health insurance plan important?

There are many benefits to having a comprehensive health insurance plan in place, including:

  • You have flexibility over where and when you receive medical treatment.

  • You also won’t have to deal with the long NHS waiting lists and may be able to access a wider range of tests and treatments that aren’t always available on the NHS.

  • You’ll receive full cover for eligible inpatient and day-patient treatment as part of the core cover.

  • You‘ll have the option to add additional benefits to your policy to increase your cover.

How much does a comprehensive health insurance plan cost?

There’s a number of factors which may determine the cost of your fully comprehensive medical insurance plan, including but not limited to:

  • Your age (the higher your age, the more you may have to pay as there are more health risks).

  • Your medical history and overall health.

  • The level of cover you choose (optional benefits will increase the cost of your insurance policy).

If you would like to get a better idea of how much our comprehensive health insurance cover could cost you, you can get a quote or speak to us today.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under a fully comprehensive medical insurance plan?

No, pre-existing medical conditions aren’t covered. That said, some medical conditions may be insurable if you have not received any advice, medication or treatment for it or had any symptoms for a sustained amount of time after your policy starts (only applies to moratorium underwriting).Find out more about how underwriting works.
