What is Freedom Cancer Care?
Freedom Cancer Care gives eligible members information and personal support around cancer. It is part of Freedom 360, our health and wellbeing toolkit, and is provided by Reframe, a specialist cancer support service.
It has two parts: an Information Hub, and one-to-one support from a dedicated cancer nurse specialist.
What is the Information Hub?
The Information Hub is an online resource with reliable information about cancer, including awareness and symptoms. It is available to members with Freedom Cancer Care included in their cover, whether or not they are making a claim.
You can create your account from the Freedom Cancer Care page.
What is one-to-one support?
If you have an eligible cancer claim, you can have one-to-one support from a dedicated cancer nurse specialist. Up to six hours of one-to-one support is available.
A cancer nurse specialist can help you understand your diagnosis and treatment options, prepare for appointments and manage the practical and emotional side of treatment.
How do you access one-to-one support?
Contact our Cancer Care Team on 01202 283 592 or cct@fhi.co.uk. They will confirm your eligibility and refer you.
How does it fit with your cancer cover?
Freedom Cancer Care sits alongside your cancer cover. It does not change what your policy covers. Your policy documents explain your cancer cover in full, and our Cancer Care Team can talk you through it.
Where else can you find support?
If you are worried about a symptom, speak to your GP. Charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support also offer free information and support for anyone affected by cancer.
