We know that noticing a mole, skin lesion, or rash that doesn’t look quite right can be worrying and getting it checked quickly matters. But we know getting seen quickly isn’t always easy.

Freedom offers a Skin Lesion Pathway for fast, expert review of moles and lesions, all from home and no GP referral needed. Simply call our claims team (subject to outpatient limits).

We also offer a wider Dermatology Pathway, giving you access to fast diagnosis and treatment advice for a range of skin conditions (subject to a GP referral and outpatient limits).

Skin Analytics FAQs

What is the Skin Analytics service?

Skin Analytics is a digital dermatology service that allows Freedom Health members to have moles, lesions, and other skin concerns assessed quickly and conveniently from home by specialist dermatologists.

Do I need a GP referral to use the service?

For the Skin Lesion Pathway, you can access the service directly through our claims team, with no GP referral required. For the General Dermatology Pathway, a GP referral is needed.

How do I access the service?

Simply contact our claims team by phone or email. They will guide you through the next steps and provide access to the Skin Analytics platform.

Who reviews my case?

All assessments are carried out by GMC-registered consultant dermatologists, ensuring that your results are accurate, safe, and trustworthy.

How long will it take to get my results?

You will usually receive your results within three days of sending your images. These will come directly from Skin Analytics, not Freedom Health Insurance.

What skin conditions are covered?

The service can assess a wide range of skin concerns. To check whether your condition is included, you can use our Digital Dermatology Checker on our Skin Analytics page. If you would prefer to speak to someone, our Freedom Health Insurance claims team will be happy to confirm what is eligible.

Is the service secure and confidential?

Yes. All information and images are handled securely by Skin Analytics and are never shared with Freedom Health Insurance. Your privacy is protected at every stage of the process. For more details, you can view the Skin Analytics privacy policy on their website.

Does using Skin Analytics affect my policy limits?

Yes. Access to Skin Analytics depends on the outpatient benefit included in your policy:

  • If your policy does not include outpatient benefit, you will not be able to use the Skin Analytics service.

  • If you have a limited outpatient benefit, the service fee will be deducted from your outpatient allowance.

  • If you have full outpatient cover, you can use Skin Analytics without restrictions.

Your excess is waived for the Skin Analytics claim itself. However, if you require further treatment with a dermatologist, your usual excess will apply.

Will I have to pay an excess?

With Freedom Health Insurance, your excess is waived for claims made through the Skin Analytics service. If you need further treatment, your usual excess will then apply.

Please note: The service fee is taken from your outpatient limit and is subject to outpatient limits.

What if I have a technical issue with the app or kit?

For any technical or app-related issues, you can contact the Skin Analytics support team at [email protected] or 0203 123 456.

What if I can’t get a clear photo?

The platform provides tips on how to take a good quality photo. If your image isn’t suitable, you’ll be asked to try again. For the most accurate results, follow the photo guidance carefully.

What if I don’t receive my results?
